New upper grandstand steel was added along the front straight and into turn #1.  Plus new gate one grand entrance and multiple stair and elevator towers to provide easy access to the new premium seats.

The University of Kentucky held a topping out ceremony for their expansion of the Commonwealth Football Stadium.  Over 2,800 tons were used to add press, suite, concession, and office capacity to this SEC facility.

You may have noticed the sign at the street has been updated.  The new modifications bring the sign up to date with the help of our plasma burning bed.  The name letters were replaced with a 20′ galvanized plate and the logo and date letters were burned out of 2″ thick plate.

Geiger and Peters, fabricators and erectors of structural steel, helped promote the Lamar Construction March of Dimes motorcycle tour today with an outside set-up and luncheon. Designed by world-renowned bike designer Paul Teutel Jr., the custom motorcycle will be raffled off with all the proceeds going to the March of Dimes and their “Built For Babies” campaign.

“It was a great day to help out the March of Dimes and Lamar Construction fundraiser, and share a lunch with our employees, vendors and clients” said GP President Steve Knitter. “You rarely get a chance to see one of these custom bikes up close and like the custom work Geiger and Peters does with structural steel, this bike was a true work of art.”
